Samsung Bangladesh introduces its new smartphone Samsung Galaxy A14 to consumers. The phone is priced at ৳21,999 for its 4/64 GB version.
Last year, its predecessor Samsung Galaxy A13 was one of the most successful releases from this brand in terms of popularity and sales in Bangladesh. The expectation from the new Galaxy A14 was therefore relatively high. The design looks very simple with a regular waterdrop notch display on the front. The backside looks similar to the Galaxy A13 but more minimal. There is nothing impressive about the design. It’s just another average looking device, if anything, too average for a price tag of ৳21,999. There is no display protection like Galaxy A13 had but we still have the same 6.6 inches big Full HD+ PLS LCD screen. The back camera also looks the same with a 50MP main lens. However, the front camera is upgraded from 8 MP to a 13 MP one.
There is the same 5000 mAh battery with 15W charging. Now, it’s fair to expect a faster charger for the price, an 18W one or even many phones are offering a 33W charger around this price. Although, Samsung chargers and charging technology is better than many brands and you can’t always judge the charging capability only with the amount of watts.
There is a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset and you could very well expect at least a Helio G88 chipset for the price. But point to be noted that last year’s Galaxy A13 came with a much lower performance Exynos 850 chipset. When compared with Helio G80, Helio G80 is clearly faster in terms of CPU and gaming performance. So, it is an improvement. However, The RAM is just 4 GB and you could expect a 6 GB RAM for the price.
Among other features, we have a dedicated MicroSD slot, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, NFC, USB Type-C, dual Nano-SIM and so on.
