We have seen some fine surprises from Tecno Mobile Bangladesh so far. They have made a name for releasing gadgets with fine features at a lower price. The latest add to that is the Tecno Camon 20. The phone is priced at ৳19,990 for the 8/256 GB model.
First, let us look at the design. “Stunning” is one simple word to describe it. It looks individualistic, elegant and stands out in the crowd. On top of that, we have an IP53-certified dust and splash-resistant body. This means it can stand some rain while you are carrying it in your pocket or if you accidentally splash some water on your dining table. But do not take it when taking a bath. The display is AMOLED. Now, that’s another very impressive feature. You hardly get an AMOLED display under a 20K budget nowadays. There is also a big 6.67 inches Full HD+ always-on display with a 90Hz refresh rate. These are some real wow factors.
When it comes to the Operating System, there is the latest Android 13. In the chipset section, a MediaTek Helio G85 is used. Hmm, here it goes down slightly. Although, it’s arguable if you can call it unfair. But we sure expected at least a Helio G88 chipset. But G85 isn’t that bad at all. In fact, it is coming with 8 GB RAM and a massive 256 GB internal storage. These are some really fine performance specs at this cost.
The main back camera is a 64 MP one with PDAF and f/1.7 aperture, ring-LED flash and so on. There is no 4K video recording or an ultrawide lens or any fancy OIS etc. It’s a decent lower-budget camera and you should be satisfied with it. The same goes for the 32 MP front camera. In fact, it’s one of the much better lower-budget cameras.
Some other surprising features are that we got an in-display fingerprint sensor. We really had to double-check this one. There is also a 33W fast charger in the box for charging the 5000 mAh battery. So, this is a phone that caught our attention big time and it deserves some fine compliments for keeping the price under 20K. Of course, we have already discussed that the chipset is not unfair but somewhat average. There is also no Gorilla Glass protection for the display and the body is made of plastic. Still, at the moment, it is the most recommended phone for the price by us.
