Today on 1st November 2023, Tecno Mobile introduced the Phantom V Flip smartphone for the Bangladeshi consumers. There is only one single 8/256 GB model is available and it is priced at BDT 80,990.
Previously, the phone was launched in India with a price tag of ₹71,999 (roughly BDT 95,300) which was then reduced to a discounted price of ₹54,999 (about BDT 72,800). So, the official BD price of ৳80,990 is fairly higher than the Indian price. But if we look at the Samsung Flip phone official prices in Bangladesh and in India, Tecno is coming with a far better deal.
Th phone is commonly recognised as the first lower-budget contemporary Flip smartphone. You won’t say ৳80,990 as a lower-priced phone, but all other true Flip smartphones in the market are above 1 Lakh BDT. But we are talking about the official price here. You’ll find the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 around BDT 80,000 in the unofficial market right now, which comes with a far better chipset, better display and a waterproof body and perhaps also better in terms of software and updates.
But if we just come back to the Tecno Phantom V Flip, you’ll want a phone with this cost to be waterproof at least and it is not. This is a significant disadvantage and may lead to the lack of interest for many consumers. Then take its MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset, which has a Nanoreview gaming score of 58/100 and CPU score of 52/100. Now take Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which scores 100/100 in gaming and 94/100 in CPU score. So, Tecno Phantom V Flip 5 is definitely an overpriced phone if we consider the global market altogether right now.
Despite its price critic, Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G comes with a few advantages and nice features. The design looks trendy, the colors, the rounded secondary screen, just 7 millimeter slimness when unfolded, the camera quality, stereo speakers, the 45W charger and so on speak for its favor.
