The phone Infinix Hot 40i was just released last month in some of the African and Asian markets. It arrived in Bangladesh earlier than we thought. Infinix was bold enough to bring this as the first 2024 officially released smartphone in Bangladesh. The question is now, is it a worthy gadget to consider? The pricing is BDT 13,999 for its 8/128 GB model and it is available at the moment in Daraz online shop with a discounted price of BDT 12,999. Yes, and we have checked it. This is the model with 8 GB actual built in RAM and there is an added 8 GB virtual RAM and 128 GB internal storage.
Design
The design is getting a bit too familiar, frankly. This kind of iPhone back camera cut is now present in most of the latest lower budget phones. Let us show you some examples below:
Infinix Hot 30i ৳11,599 ৳12,599 ৳13,199 |
Infinix Smart 8 ৳10,499 4/64 GB ৳11,499 4/128 GB |
Realme C51 ৳12,999 |
Tecno Spark Go 2024 ৳10,690 4/64 GB |
Tecno Spark 20C ৳12,999 4/128 GB ৳14,499 8/128 GB |
itel A70 ৳9,490 4/64 GB ৳9,990 4/128 GB |
As you can see, the price range of these phones are similar and the design as well. Yes, there are differences in their specifications which are going to play a key role here. But we just want to say that we have been seeing this design pattern since the beginning of last year and now, we want to see something different, more innovative.
Display and Camera
There is a standard HD+ IPS LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate facility. The punch-hole area works as a dynamic notification bar, which Infinix calls a “Magic-Ring” notification panel. The maximum brightness level is 480 nits which sounds very average, but a so-called DRE (Dark Region Enhancement) technology is used to increase outdoor visibility. We have seen photo samples from a few hands-on reviewers. The 50 MP rear camera is nothing special. Image quality is just decent and there is up to Full HD video recording with no stabilization. The 32 MP front camera is impressive for this cost. If you are a selfie lover, this is a brilliant choice. The colors, details, adjustment of lights in the surrounding, focus, all look well-balanced in good daylight conditions.
Performance & Others
Another good thing is its 18W USB Type-C charger. Unisoc T606 chipset was expected here and you can’t complain too much about it for this price and considering all other features. It’s still a stable enough chipset for handling everyday tasks and for playing games with a bit of lower graphics settings. 8 GB built-in RAM is a great help too. Infinix is providing XBOOST Gaming Engine software for more optimized gaming performance. Apart from that, the sound quality should be satisfactory. We got Android 13 with no mention of any further OS upgrades.
