The very first question that popped up in the mind was, how do we order these phones? What do we call them? We thought of the following:
- “Finally, some real iPhone alternatives.”
- “Genuine ultra-modern, comforting lifestyle flagships.”
- “Hasselblad camera masters.”
- “Jeans phones.” (yeah that made sense, like one of those 90s jeans but reimagined)
- “No need to think. Let’s just get them.”
The Oppo Find series has always been extraordinary. We still remember the time when Oppo Find X came out in the year 2018. It was a very delicate phone with a motorized pop-up selfie camera. That completely rocked the market back then. But then it started to lose its charm till the Oppo Find X6 and X6 Pro came out last year. These were impressive devices. But this year the brand takes the matter very seriously to present Oppo Find X7 Ultra and Oppo Find X7. It’s more like a jump from retro to post-modern, and boy, how gorgeous these phones are. You look at them and notice the masterclass craft almost subconsciously. It’s made with so much comfort and that radiates all over it, with a lot of charm and pure class. Let’s just get into them individually. But first let’s have a look at the prices:

Oppo Find X7 Ultra
The design really caught us here. It’s one of those art pieces where you keep looking and feel like if you try to express it with words, it won’t sound good enough. So, you keep trying to form your thoughts in a higher dimension, like poetry. We got pure abstract poetry right here, in its design. What a creation and a marvel of technology. We really think that trying to describe the design would be unfitting in the small scope of this article, so, we’re going to skip this part and let you make an opinion for yourself.
The build quality and the display, there isn’t much to talk about them. You’ll get all the latest flagship features with solid durability. Overall, there is no concern about them at all. In the camera section, we got something new. There are four cameras at the back and all of them are 50 Megapixels each. Okay, that’s something to start with. Then we got two periscope lenses, one having 65mm size and up to 2.8x optical zoom and another one is 135mm with 6x optical zoom. These will be useful depending on the scenario you want to capture. There is also a 123º ultrawide shooter. You can check out some photos below provided by Oppo to illustrate its camera capability.
The selfie camera is 32 MP and we can’t say too much about it right now without checking out some hands-on video reviews (or if we get the chance to check it out). But it should also be pretty good given the price and the main camera configuration. There are stable 4K@60fps video recording options for both cameras. The rear camera additionally provides HDR, 10‑bit video and Dolby Vision. So, this looks like a complete camera package that can support you for at least a couple of years or more.
The performance area is pretty organized. There is not much to say here as well, like the screen and its build quality. Latest top-notch Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset from Qualcomm is used and you’ll get Android 14. The 5000 mAh battery has a 100W charger and 50W wireless charging system. There is Wi-Fi 7, 5G, UFS 4.0 storage, so basically all are of the latest standard. An added feature is the emergency SOS via satellite, which will push the value of the device further up.
Oppo Find X7
This can sound strange, but true that you may like this lower configuration phone X7 more than the Ultra version. First reason, the price is much lower. Then the design looks very similar, slightly less premium though, but still very gorgeous. The screen resolution and size are a little reduced and that’s just a fact. The rear camera quality is also reduced, especially in terms of the periscope lenses. However, frankly, not a lot of consumers would need that kind of advanced double periscope lens. Here we got a single 64 MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom and it will still work great.
It gets interesting in the performance section. Well, the battery and charging remain the same, but the wireless and reverse charging are gone (again, most of us wouldn’t need them anyway). But the chipset is a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 which performs better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 used in the Ultra model. On paper, you are getting better performance in this one despite having a lower cost. Here, of course, we have to see real time tests for confirmation. But there shouldn’t be any vast difference. These are both the highest performing chipsets in the industry. But the point is, for the lower price, you aren’t losing much and in some cases; you are gaining. It also has a very nice purple color, which is very much of our liking. Both phones have a cooling system, so no worries about any heating issues.
