Poco X6 Pro teaser

The Poco X5 series (Poco is a sub-brand of Xiaomi) was more of a mid-range release. The Poco X6 and Poco X6 Pro are pricier than its predecessors. There are a fair amount of upgrades as well. These are almost a whole new generation of phones. These devices will be available for sale in the Indian online marketplace Flipkart from 16th January and later will also be available in other global markets. Let us have a look at their Indian prices:

Poco X6 Pro features

As you can see from the above prices, this is a proper high-mid range smartphone. It is packed with many features, but let us start with the most important ones. The gadget comes with the latest Android 14 and the Xiaomi HyperOS UI, which are recognised for a clean, minimal and fast experience. It is one of the first high-mid range Android smartphones in the market. Then there will be three years of further Android upgrades (up to Android 17) and four years of security updates. It means if you get it right now; you are getting a solid experience till the end of 2027. Now, that’s what you call a good value for money phone.

The next big thing is its MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset. This is among the top gaming chipsets used in smartphones and is a very strong choice for the cost. If performance is your utmost priority, and this is your maximum budget, we don’t see a better offer than the Poco X6 Pro right now.

The design looks upgraded as well. This has that very abstract touch which will let you comfortably carry it for a few years on all sorts of occasions. The plastic body is a big downside for this price. But the yellow color has a eco-leather (silicon polymer) backside. The other colors with plastic back have a mirror finish and also look very premium but they are fingerprint magnet. Although there is Gorilla Glass 5 protection and water splash resistance, which aren’t present in many devices these days. The 1.5K resolution AMOLED screen quality is quite impressive and if you are looking for one of the best screens in this budget range, go for it as well.

The camera section is another drawback along with the plastic body. We have seen photo samples from the reviewers and you can live with them. But there are better cameras even at lower prices. So, if you are mainly a camera enthusiast, we don’t recommend it. But we liked the 4K video recording quality. For those who do not know, this is a rebranded model of Xiaomi Redmi K70E, which was recently launched in China.

This one is quite similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro smartphone. The design is very identical. It uses the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, but for some reason it has a higher benchmark score. The performance is also very well optimized with minimum CPU throttling and no heating issues. The display, battery, charging, all remain the same. But it remains slightly behind in the camera section with its 64 MP primary shooter. Redmi Note 13 Pro offers a 200 MP main shooter with more vibrant colors and better details. Poco X6 is shipped with Android 13 but has the same 3 years OS and 4 years security update policy. Here you’ll get an upgrade till Android 16. You’ll also have MIUI 14 pre-installed. Once the Android 14 upgrade is available, it will be automatically updated to HyperOS.

The phone has a similar camera to the Pro model but is just a little downgraded. The screen is the same, though. Here all colors come with a plastic body.
