Walton Bangladesh releases its new superphone Primo S8 Mini with a price tag of ৳13,999 for the 4/64 GB version.
So, why do we call it a superphone? This kind of release is not very common from Walton, but we do see phones like this now and then. The previous Primo RX8 Mini was kind of a similar device. Primo S8 Mini is priced finely and if you look at the specifications, it looks complete in the first impression. We have a very fine-looking design first of all. You couldn’t expect better than this at this price point. Then we have a full HD display with protection, something really rare around this expense.
Then comes the fairly nice quad back camera and the 13 MP front camera. Both can record 4K videos. The 5000 mAh battery comes with an 18W fast charging option which is great. We have Android 11 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 665. Now, it’s not a bad chipset for the cost but when compared to a chipset like MediaTek Helio G80 (which you might find in some phones around this price like Tecno Spark 7 Pro), Snapdragon 665 performs lower when it comes to gaming. According to nanoreview, Helio G80 has a gaming score of 19 whereas Snapdragon 665 gets only 14 marks. So, it is not as efficient as you may think, but not that bad either especially when comes to CPU and battery performance.
We have a fast UFS 2.1 64 GB ROM, dedicated microSD slot, back-mounted fingerprint sensor, etc. among other features. Overall, it is a pretty good deal right now in the market.
