Vivo X80 5G is Vivo’s latest flagship smartphone in Bangladesh. The previous X70 Pro 5G and X60 Pro 5G were also some competitive choices from the brand. X80 5G is available in one single 12/256 GB version and is priced at ৳76,990.
The first thing that will catch your eyes is its design. It looks gorgeous, something we will give 10 out of 10. On the front, we have an almost bezel-less punch-hole display that looks slightly curved on the edges. It reminds us of the older Samsung Galaxy S7 series phones back in 2016. It was such a thriving design back then and still looks great. On the back, we have either a glass or an eco-leather setup, depending on the model you choose. Of course, the eco-leather is the much more attractive option. However, it may absorb some sweat and you have to keep it clean by spraying some natural water-vinegar mixture now and then and drying it with tissue paper. This is the more fitting option for a nature-friendly eco-leather back. The glass back on the other hand is the easier option. You can also just use a back cover for the leather back model.
Now, the first advantage when it comes to the technical specifications is that Vivo X80 comes with a smooth 5G support. It has a large 6.78 inches Full HD+ fine AMOLED display. So, reading, browsing, and using any apps will be a pleasant experience. We have Android 12 and we are expecting further updates at least till Android 14. So, in terms of security and updates, it is pretty stable as well. On the chipset side, we have a 4 nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 one and wait for it, yes, 12 GB of huge RAM. This is excellent for any kind of latest, graphics-intensive gaming. It’s a beast, a pure powerhouse. You can’t expect much better around this price. At least, not right now, given the fine design, display and the camera which is our next topic. But let us also quickly mention that the 4500 mAh battery comes with a monster 80W charger that can charge the phone from 0 to 50% in just about 11 minutes.
The 50MP main camera comes with laser autofocus and OIS as well as an f/1.8 aperture. This gives you some indication that it is not like any other ordinary mid-range 50Mp camera. On top of that, we have a 12 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a useful f/2.0 12 MP ultrawide cam. The main camera also has advanced features like Zeiss optics and pixel shift. There is a 4K video recording and stabilization, which makes it a very attractive camera choice. On the front, we have a 32 MP camera that can also record 4K videos.
Apart from that we have an advanced 32-bit/192kHz audio, in-display fingerprint sensor, Infrared, NFC and reverse charging facility. We don’t have any FM radio, 3.5mm Jack, or a MicroSD slot which are some of its major disadvantages. The 256 GB internal storage however makes up for the shortage of a MicroSD slot. Overall, Vivo X80 5G is one of the finest choices you can get in the mid-2022 smartphone market.
