Xiaomi Redmi 13C has not yet been officially announced by Xiaomi but is expected to arrive very soon. The device was first spotted in a leak by Mysmartprice at the end of September 2023. Now, it is spotted on Amazon US online shopping site by a well-reviewed seller. A 4/128 variant is priced at $140 (approximately BDT 15,500). Then another 8/256 GB model is seen for $170 (about BDT 18,850). With the prices, the specs are also listed. Although the phone has not yet been officially presented by Xiaomi. Therefore, we can’t guarantee that the specs by the seller ahead of the official launch are fully correct.
But the design is so far confirmed, we can say. They look the same from the previous leak. We see a waterdrop notch, triple rear camera setup split in two parts. The upper part is likely having the main 50 MP lens and the lower part carrying the 2 MP macro lens and 2 MP depth sensor. The lower bezel looks fairly large, but the screen is still a big 6.74” one. We got HD+ quality IPS LCD panel with 600 nits peak brightness and a 90Hz refresh rate. The front camera remains 5 MP like the previous Redmi 12C.
The 5000 mAh battery stays with the 10W charger and this is the biggest disadvantage of this phone. You’d expect at least a 18W charger for the cost. But the compromise was made probably because Xiaomi has included a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset here which is the most powerful yet in a Redmi C series smartphone. The seller listed that the phone runs on Android 12 based on MIUI 14. But we highly doubt it. MIUI 14 is usually for Android 13 and Android 14 was just released. It won’t make any sense for Xiaomi to release the Redmi 13C with Android 12 right now like the previous Redmi 12C. But if it does run on Android 12, there is no way we can recommend this smartphone to the users right now despite having a powerful Helio G99 chipset. Some other features are a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a dedicated MicroSD slot, USB Type-C and so on.
