Infinix Hot 40 series announced with upgraded design, 32MP selfie camera, XBOOST Gaming Engine

Infinix Hot 40 teaser

Just a few days ago, the Infinix mobile brand unveiled its new Hot 40 series smartphones. It embodies three devices: Hot 40 Pro, Hot 40 and Hot 40i. These phones are coming with a few interesting upgrades. They are listed in Infinix global website and we do not know at this point when these gadgets will be available and in which markets. There is also no info about their pricing, but given the specs, they’ll be in the lower budget category.

Infinix Hot 30 and Hot 30i were incredibly successful here in the Bangladesh market. In fact, this couple pushed Infinix to become one of the leading brands in Bangladesh. So, it is obvious that the expectation from the Hot 40 series is quite high. There is good and bad news. Let us tell you the bad news first. All these phones are coming with the old Android 13 and right now you could very well expect Android 14, especially because the previous phones have Android 13 as well. However, we have no info about its OS and security update policy. It can be that Android 14 will be available soon for them.

Infinix Hot 40 Pro

This time we have received a Pro model which wasn’t the case for the previous gadgets in this series. There is a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset here combined with XBOOST Gaming Engine for stable and optimized gaming experience. 8 GB RAM plus 8 GB virtual RAM option will further improve the gaming and multitasking experience. There are 128 and 256 GB fast UFS 2.2 ROM options, making it an ideal choice for low-budget mobile gamers. There is also a so-called “Metamaterial Antenna” which increases signal reception capability and download speed. Therefore, internet browsing will be more fun as well.

A 108 MP main photo shooter is included on the back with up to 2K video recording. The 32 MP front camera has dual-Ring LED flash. The punch-hole turns into a notification bar as well, which is trending in the latest smartphones. Nothing special in the battery section, but you’ll get a decent 5000 mAh battery with 33W charging. There are improved Hi-Res audio and stereo speakers. We have a large 6.78” FHD+ IPS LCD screen with 120Hz refresh rate. A shimmering glow design is featured in all three devices.

This one has almost the same features as the Pro version with a few downgrades. Firstly, the design and the body dimension etc. are almost the same. But the chipset is a lower Helio G88. You’ll get a 90Hz refresh rate instead of 120Hz. The main back camera here is 50 Megapixels. The Hi-Res audio is gone but stereo speakers are there. Apart from that, everything else remains more or less the same.

Here, you’ll find a few significant differences compared to the above two models. The design is identical, the notification bar, the punch-hole are still there, which is good news. But the screen is reduced to HD+ quality and a smaller 6.56-inch size. We still have the 90Hz refresh rate, though.

The back camera quality is reduced with no 2K recording anymore (maximum 1080p@30fps). The macro lens is also gone. Quad-LED flash and the Super Night Mode are still there. The 32 MP selfie shooter remains the same. So, the downgrades aren’t that huge when it comes to the camera. The charging here is 18W, and the Chipset is a much lower Unisoc T606. There is a lower 4 GB RAM option. The XBOOST Game Engine remains, but Unisoc T606 isn’t that powerful for gaming; however, the price here should also be significantly lower. There is no stereo speakers in this model.
