Tecno Mobile, a brand that has been climbing higher and higher with most of their latest releases. Just when we were thinking that they are on their way to solidify their place in the market and move even further up, they have reached an end to whatever they were building to. We are talking about the new Tecno Spark 20C smartphone. It looks like a device completely out of the blue. The pricing in Bangladesh is set to BDT 12,999 for the 4/128 GB model and BDT 14,499 for the 8/128 GB model.
Before talking about anything else, we are picking on its performance side, in particular its chipset. The chipset is like the heart of a smartphone. If the chipset is low compared to the price, it means the smartphone already lost about half of its value. We are dealing with a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset here with a starting price of BDT 12,999 up to BDT 14,499! Of course Tecno didn’t mention the chipset model anywhere in their official source so, we had to check with their customer service and a few hands-on reviews for the confirmation. When a chipset like Helio G36 is offered for around BDT 10,000 price, we don’t recommend it. It performs lower than the Unisoc T606 which we see as the default chipset for phones priced around BDT 10,000 or lower. We have no idea why in the world would anyone pay 13-14.5K price for a Helio G36 chipset. Tecno literally killed its reputation with this extremely poor release. Let us show you some comparisons below of what you can get for the price.

Let us show you where Spark 20C stands compared to that.

To put it simply, Spark 20C is the death of performance for any phone at this price. Yes, the phone comes with a few nice features such as, a fine design (although this kind of iPhone cut camera and dynamic bar feature has already become very common in the market), decent cameras, an 18W charger, dual stereo speakers and so on, it doesn’t cover up for the lack in performance in any possible way. You’ll get most of these features in other phones anyway as well and even better. The screen is a regular HD+ one, plastic body, no screen protection. Very average specs for the price. Our verdict, a big thumbs down to this model and not recommended at all.
